About this game

Running Fred is an action game with multiple game modes created by Dedalord. Can you take control of our crazy hero Fred as he runs for his life? Running Fred puts you in control of Fred as he makes his way through castles and more. But be careful! There’s danger at every turn waiting to crush Fred to his gory core. Play Running Fred on Poki and experience multiple game modes: adventure, challenge and endless survival!

How to play

On a computer, most games in this category use the arrow keys or WASD to move, the mouse to aim or select, and space or enter to confirm and act. On a phone or tablet, tap and swipe directly on the game area. If Running Fred uses its own control scheme, it will show you on the title screen or in its in-game help.

Use the Fullscreen button above the description to expand the game to the whole screen — worth doing on smaller displays, and it removes everything else from view so you can concentrate.

Tips for a better run

  • Give the game a few seconds to finish loading before you start pressing keys — early input can be dropped.
  • Close heavy background tabs if the frame rate feels sluggish; browser games share your machine's resources.
  • On mobile, turn the device to landscape for games designed around a wide play area.
  • Found a bug or a game that will not load? Use the Report button above and tell us what happened.

Frequently asked

Is Running Fred free to play?
Yes. Running Fred is completely free on H5Games5U. There is no purchase, no subscription and no trial period — the full game is available to everyone.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. The game runs inside this page using HTML5, so nothing is downloaded to your device and nothing is installed. Closing the tab ends the game completely.
Can I play Running Fred on my phone?
In most cases yes. The game is served to mobile browsers the same way it is to desktop. Titles built with touch controls play natively on phones and tablets; a small number of games designed around a keyboard work best on a computer.
